Election Day

I hope that everyone that was capable of voting, took the time to vote today. I know some don't think these elections are important because they are not the presidential elections but they are. I took time out of my busy schedule to vote and also bother others to do the same. I vote for a reason and my reason to vote this year is to keep my rights as a woman.

change of majors

everyday for years I wanted to major in Criminal Justice. I had my mind set. i wanted to become a lawyer. but what kind of lawyer? a family attorney. I also wanted to be a special victims detective. yes,  up to this day I watch every Law and Order there is. I have a passion for animals, preferably k9s, soooo Animal Patrol officer was also in mine. then I was like naw, FBI trainer Is a better fit for me. basically I'm confused. For the last two weeks I have had a lot of thinking to do, and I came to the conclusion that my minor should continue to be in Sociology but my major should be in Social work, I now want to be a direct service social worker.

to be continued. ....in a later blog: )

My 1st Hallow Haunt Experience

Yesterday I went to go do something that I never experience; Its never a bad thing to experience something new. I decided to go to Hallow Haunt. It was so intense for my body. I believed I screamed the whole night, which may have been the reason for the major headaches i have be enduring today.

We went through three or four Haunt Mazes and we also went into a Theatre to watch a three dimensional movie. Everything was so graphic and deadly, it started to seem real, or maybe im just scary-acting.

Poetry

So I'm currently sitting in class and we're talking about Poetry. When I read poetry I like it to be straight forward. I'm not really into romance, it seems to be played out to me. Everything that I read MUST consist of suspense or something that I can relate to....

The Glass Menagerie

Sooo, at first I thought I would do my paper on THE GLASS MENAGERIE using symbols. Then I decided what character I might use and that was easily determined. Laura! I was going to use the fire escape, the glass  unicorn, and her nickname 'BLUE ROSES' but I couldn't get it to flow as well as I wanted it to. So then I decided to just use the "fragile glass unicorn" and break down the word to show the comparison between it and Laura. BUT....that was not correlating as well as I needed it to either. Finally, I just decided to take the easy route and analyse each character: Amanda, Laura, and Tom. I also thought I should add a little twist to it and show how each of them tried to escape reality and what they did in their spare time to do so.I'm pretty sure maturity of the class did the same, but it is what it is.

BEYOND CLASS #1

SoOoOooOOoOOo...I had came to the conclusion that I have kind of become ANTI since I started my learning experience at Richard Bland....LAST YEAR. Therefore I decided to change that this year because that is not the real me. I love to talk, interact and LAUGH. With addition to those three things, I will try just about anything when it comes down to adventure. I JOINED THE PEAC ORGANIZATION. Last week we had our first meeting and it went well. This week we met again and went hiking on campus. It was a short hiking trip but it was decent. I think the most exciting thing I saw was the Beaver's Dam, but I saw not one beaver, which really did not sit well with my mind. We also talked about the different types of trees, mostly Oak trees.  That really did not catch my attention of course, I believe it is because  I am not interested in trees; mainly the animals. Im actually looking forward to the other activities we do in this club.

This Rough Draft!!!

Every week I almost forget to write on this network site! I wonder why?? Hmm...

Anyways, this character analysis is kind of giving me some problems. It sounds simple to do and In my mind it is simple, but I just can not get my thoughts down on paper. I believe the hardest part of this Rough Draft is the fact that i have to be able to compare myself with one of these weird characters that i really share no comparison with. Julian and Bailey seems not to stand the appearence of the mothers, but i adore being around her, I guess cause i been moved out (yay!). The lady in the yellow wallpaper is crazy and trapped in a room all the time and all the other characters are murders and them are two roads that im not trying to intersect. So with all that being said, im completely stuck with a lost of 500+ words.

Flanner O'Conner

I feel as if Flanner O'Conner's stories have been the best stories we have read so far. They were very much easier to understand. In both stories "A Good Man Hard To Find" and "Everything that rises must converge" has a mother as a character whom seems to be very annoying, esp towards their sons. Baily and Julian seemed to always try to ignore their mother and rarely wanted to be around them but never was capable of telling their mother because of course they did not want to hurt their feelings. At the end of  each story I feel that both sons felt a "moment in grace" when they realized that they were going to loose their mother or was loosing her. They actually seemed to appreciate their mother. Each mother only depended on their sons for everything and basically based their entire time and day around them and just wanted to spend as much time as possible.

On This Boring Thursday Evening....

SoOoOo, I actually forgot all about this blogging mess until about 5 minutes ago when I was reading our English book for our reading assignment. With no classes today I had barely had nothing to do so I decided to read ahead to "Good Man Hard To Find" and I must say it was good but very much sad . It is probably the best story we will read for the month of September.
